Discerning Christ's will is the process of setting aside me, and seeing Christ. It is the process of uprooting my emotions, my desires and my will, and identifying Jesus' will and Jesus' desires. It is more than one prayer whispered before drifting off to sleep, and it is more than reading the Bible for a few moments in the morning. It is a journey, a process--and a way of life. It is the constant struggle to escape the entangeled trappings of the self and enslave the heart, mind, and soul not to sight but faith. It is the journey of discarding hundreds--maybe even thousands--of personal wants for the singular will of Christ. It is the exhauting weeding of the overgrowth to reveal the precious rose.
